Mother foils son’s attempt to hold up a convenience store by snatching his toy gun

A Mississippi man’s attempt to rob a convenience store was foiled on Tuesday – by his own mother.
Roy Mitchell, 22, of Flowood, tried to hold up a D’s One Stop Food Mart in Brandon by waving what turned out to be a bogus gun at the clerk while paying for a bag of Doritos.
But before he could make off with the store’s takings, the would-be thief’s mother, Sharron Mitchell, who had followed him into the store, intervened, grabbing the gun from her son’s hands.
The incident was captured on surveillance video, which police handed to ABC News.
Ms Mitchell told the assistant she was sorry for her son’s behavior, adding that he was just mucking around.
The mother then begged the woman behind the counter not to call the police before forcing her son out the door.
‘The mother sees the commotion, grabs the gun out of the boy’s hand and pushes him out of the store,’ Brandon Police assistant chief Chris Butts told the TV station.
But the shocked staff member ignored the mother’s pleas and called 911 as soon as the pair had left the shop.
Police tracked down the mother and son in nearby Pelahatchie shortly after and uncovered a black plastic toy pistol in the car.

The state of many people today, who are a direct product of the Gangster-Thug and Drug War paradigm of thinking. This is called extirpation and is proof positive of the resulting mental, economic and social decay that is so disastrously prevalent and dominant of that “non-culture”. Who benefits from such this ill or diseased condition, you might ask? Many, but most of whom are completely in denial as to their part in it. The corruption is so widespread and subtle, that statistics and studies defining the causes of the massive “increase” in death rates, crime rates, incarcerations and social decline, are needed for some to see it,and even then, others will need analogies or analyses for other and self discovery
The individuals and industries who benefit are those that promote violence, those that maintain the illegal drug trade or trafficking, those that turnover realestate, those that launder money, those that find job security in policing/non-policing of the illegal drug trade, those that lawyer/non-lawyer, bails bondsmen, gun manufacturers, the private prison industries, the security industry, etc. As well as those failed parents who are corrupt themselves and don’t see anything wrong with using their own children as a crutch or extension of their own sad condition. Plenty to go around, huh? There’s more, but what this really points to, is that it is all our responsibility to do the right thing, and now, since there’s so much moral decay in society and our understanding of what is suitable, the right thing must be in correcting the ill conceived plan that seeks to manage and manipulate the illegal drug trade. Crime, is the biggest business in this country, and will never go away. Do you know how many jobs, and businesses that depend on criminal activity? Well the number is infinite, and can’t possibly be measured. You have the judges, lawyers, police, guards, doctors nurses, construction workers, farmers, electricians, painters, cooks, clothiers, dentists, psychiatrist, clergy, etc. There is no field, business, occupation, or profession, that do not profit from crime, which make it indispensable. Unfortunately, the loser in this business, are the poor Black, White, and Hispanics.
